Snowshoe tour - Give it a go
Explore fascinating winter landscapes, in search of new experiences and active discovery (CH) | 1 day
Leave ski slopes and winter hiking trails behind and make your way over snow-covered landscapes, enjoying the sensation of swirling powder snow beneath your feet. This easy one-day tour is an ideal introduction to snowshoeing. Our mountain guide will advise you of all the points to be aware of in unmarked terrain.
Alpine technique: no prior knowledge needed, Terrain: mostly moderately steep, short steeper sections and traverses
Duration from 2 to 4 hours, up to approx. 700 vertical meters, approx. 250 vertical meters per hour.

Day 1 We will start our tour from the Gotthard Pass, taking in the view of the Winterhorn, and make our way across to the so-called “Tot Ross”. Our descent back down to Hospental will be accompanied by a view of the Ursen Valley, still shrouded in a wintery cloak, with Andermatt in the center.
Our mountain guide will bring the ordered rental equipment to the meeting place. The following equipment can be rented:

- 2 pairs of gloves (1 thin pair, 1 warm, windproof and waterproof pair)
- 1x Functional socks and 1x spare socks
- Warm, robust winter shoes, must be laceable and have solid soles or mountain boots
- Tea an lunch must be brought or can be bought on-site
- Snacks (e.g. energy bars, dried fruit)
- Sunglasses and ski goggles
- Sun cream and lip cream (SPF 30 or higher)
- Camera (optional)
- Half fare travelcard (if existing)
- Thermos flask made from break-proof material
- Headlamp or flashlight with new batteries
- Small medicinal supplies for personal requirements
