The dot next to the tour date indicates the current status of the tour:
Green: bookable
Orange: only a few spaces still available
Blue: on request
Red: full
If the dot has an additional checkmark inside, the minimum number of participants is reached. Of course, you can always ask us regarding the current status.
Each tour profile always lists the relevant fitness and technical requirements. Please also see our ability level chart. If you are unsure, we are happy to advise you.
As a rule, yes. However, safety is our top priority, therefore it can happen that a tour can't go ahead as planned due to critical avalanche conditions or high risks of thunderstorms and extreme downpours. In such a case, we will notify you approx. three days before the tour begins. We may need to transfer the tour to another location or rearrange the date. Of course, always in consultation with you. If we cannot provide another alternative for you, we will refund the price of the tour or issue a voucher.
If you go to the "Services" section of the tour description, and look under "Included" you will find a list of everything included in the price. As a rule, the tour provided by the mountain guide/hiking leader and associated expenses as well as your overnight stay, incl. half board, are included.
The additional costs can be found in the tour description under "Services" and "Exclusive". Usually your arrival and departure, any transport costs or mountain railway tickets, snacks and drinks are not included in the price.
Depending on the tour status, you will receive the confirmation / invoice of your registration directly after booking. If you have entered a voucher code, or we still have to clarify contingents, we will contact you in the next few days.
3 weeks before the tour begins, we will send you an e-mail with the current status in regard to registration numbers, and provisionally inform you who your mountain guide will be. Shortly before the tour (roughly three days) we will contact you again with the final information about the specific meeting point and if, for instance, anything needs to be adapted due to current conditions.
Should this be the case, please let us know directly. Depending on the time of your cancellation, we will need to charge a cancellation fee (for this, see point 8 of our Terms and Conditions). We will refund the remaining amount or issue it as a voucher.
Please enter your voucher code or other discount into the comment section when booking. We will then deduct this from the amount invoiced.
We are happy to book a single room for you if this is possible. Please enter this in the comment section when booking.
You can pay for the tour by credit card. By paying with credit card, you will automatically be redirected to the credit card payment page after registering.
Our rental crampons have a flexible toe and heel hold so you don't need any specific or fully crampon compatible shoes. But It is important that you have mountaineering or hiking shoes that are at least ankle-high with robust and strongly profiled soles. The crampons will also fit any standard ski boots. If you have especially large shoes (EU size 47/US size 13 onwards) then please let us know beforehand.
It makes sense to use an avalanche transceiver during the course that you will later use on your own. So using your own avalanche transceiver is of course possible. Our mountain guides/hiking guides all work with the MAMMUT Barryvox S.
Everything available for rental is listed in the tour description under "Equipment". Many of our tours have equipment rental included in the tour price.
